During this year’s IFA, BOE IPC 2026 Europe—the BOE Global Innovation Partner Conference 2026 Europe Edition—was grandly held in Berlin, Germany. This marks the first time the IPC conference has been hosted overseas.

Themed “Innovation, Globalization, Collaboration,” this inaugural European IPC edition welcomed LeiTech alongside Xinhua News Agency and People’s Daily as invited media partners. Attendees toured BOE’s meticulously curated exhibition space and participated in an exclusive media briefing featuring senior executives including Qi Zheng, BOE’s Chief Strategy Officer; Liu Zhiqiang, BOE’s Chief Technology Officer; and Si Da, BOE’s Chief Brand Officer.

In recent years, China’s display industry has undergone rapid growth. Manufacturers such as BOE have continuously enhanced their technological capabilities, steadily elevating their position within the global display supply chain. Today, merely exporting products is no longer the ultimate goal; instead, establishing localized services, joint R&D initiatives, and ecosystem partnerships in overseas markets has become a new strategic challenge.

At the on-site interview, Qi Zheng, BOE’s Chief Strategy Officer, stated that hosting IPC Europe represents a pivotal milestone in BOE’s next phase of globalization. Whereas BOE’s earlier international efforts primarily focused on “getting products out,” this new stage emphasizes “putting down roots”—building local innovation ecosystems through collaborative innovation and supply-chain synergy with global partners.

To demonstrate this ecosystem-oriented approach, BOE invited European partners—including Saint-Gobain Sekurit, LEDCON, Barco, and Vusion—to share innovative applications across domains such as light-curtain dimming technology, MLED, IoT, and electronic paper.

Within the exhibition space, BOE adopted “LIGHT” as its unifying theme, dividing displays into three zones: “LIGHT for Future,” “LIGHT for Life,” and “LIGHT for Society,” illustrating its comprehensive strategy spanning display technologies, IoT applications, and sustainable development.

In the “LIGHT for Future” zone, the standout exhibit was the BYH Ultra P0.9 high-end COB display.

According to BOE, the BYH Ultra P0.9 is a premium COB display capable of peak brightness up to 2,000 nits and a contrast ratio of 20,000:1, targeting high-end commercial display applications. In terms of real-world viewing experience, the large screen delivers exceptional clarity and naturalness when playing high-dynamic scenes—such as water surfaces or cityscapes.

The “LIGHT for Life” zone showcased numerous examples of seamless integration between displays and everyday life.

For instance, the paper-like direct-view digital canvas we captured on-site appeared, at first glance and without staff guidance, indistinguishable from a traditional artwork mounted flush against the wall. Nearby, two high-PPI e-ink digital photo frames—available in different sizes—demonstrated ideal use cases for building warm, intelligent home ecosystems, effectively mitigating the cold, impersonal feel often associated with conventional appliances.

The “LIGHT for Society” zone communicated BOE’s commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. In 2025, BOE launched ONE (Open Next Earth), the display industry’s first sustainability brand in China. Built upon the core principles of openness, leadership, and continuity, ONE aims to embed sustainability as a fundamental pillar of corporate competitiveness.

BOE has pledged to achieve carbon neutrality across all group operations by 2050. To date, 21 of its domestic manufacturing facilities have earned EcoVadis sustainability certifications as national-level green factories. Notably, BOE’s Mianyang Gen-6 AMOLED production line became the first zero-carbon factory in China’s display industry to receive international certification. BOE aims to become a global co-builder of sustainable development.

So what does hosting IPC Europe signify for BOE?

During the closed-door briefing attended by LeiTech, Qi Zheng, BOE’s Chief Strategy Officer, emphasized that IPC Europe marks BOE’s transition from “product globalization” to “ecosystem globalization.”

BOE is not only exporting technologies and products globally—it is also establishing local innovation cooperation frameworks, supply-chain collaboration mechanisms, and talent development systems. Its objective is to co-build industrial ecosystems with global partners and broadly engage European stakeholders to join its global innovation network.

Naturally, expanding into the European market is no easy task. Just as Chinese consumers prioritize high refresh rates and large screen sizes, while Latin American buyers emphasize cost-effectiveness and durability, European customers set higher thresholds and expectations regarding advanced smart manufacturing, product quality assurance, and sustainability commitments.

Liu Zhiqiang, BOE’s Chief Technology Officer, noted: “To meet European customer needs, BOE is intensifying joint R&D with local teams—and integrating our proprietary Blue Whale Display Large Model. Leveraging this AI foundation model, BOE is upgrading its manufacturing toward an AI-powered ‘smart factory’ system, enabling efficient, responsive customization while maintaining delivery speed and stability.”

Si Da, BOE’s Chief Brand Officer, added: “Sustainability is a top priority—and indeed a prerequisite—for business success in Europe. BOE is continuously optimizing R&D and product delivery in alignment with European regulations, harnessing open, innovative technologies to safeguard humanity’s shared future.”

Over the years, LeiTech has consistently tracked the evolution of China’s display industry—from early consumer skepticism about domestically produced panels to today’s widespread adoption of Chinese-made displays across global smartphones, TVs, automotive infotainment systems, and beyond. This reflects a clear and substantial industry upgrade.

Globally, competition in the display sector remains fierce. Yet Chinese enterprises have evolved from mere supply-chain participants into front-line contributors shaping both technological standards and industry rules. For BOE, this year’s IFA and IPC Europe serve as a concentrated showcase of its technical expertise, product capabilities, and ecosystem vision—with one overarching goal: accelerating the transformation of “China’s BOE” into “the world’s BOE.”

From September 4–8, IFA 2026—the world’s largest consumer electronics and home appliance trade show—was held in Berlin. As the “most influential new media outlet covering IFA” widely recognized by the global AI community, LeiTech deployed its largest and highest-caliber reporting team ever to Berlin this year. Adopting a “2+N” model—featuring two live hosts plus multiple on-site editors and backend editors—LeiTech delivered immersive, multi-dimensional, real-time coverage of IFA 2026, with key focus areas including AI agents integrated with home appliances and hardware, robotics applied to domestic environments, emerging trends in human-vehicle-home digital lifestyles, and Chinese brands’ global presence.

The IFA exhibition has concluded, and the LeiTech IFA 2026 reporting team is currently conducting comprehensive on-site debriefings and summaries in Berlin—stay tuned!
