On September 4, IFA 2026 officially opened in Berlin, Germany. As one of the world’s three largest consumer electronics trade shows, this year’s IFA attracted over 1,900 exhibitors from 49 countries and regions, under the theme “The Future is Now”—the future is already here. LeiTech (ID: LeiTech) has deployed its “LeiTech IFA26 Reporting Team” to Berlin for on-the-ground, comprehensive, and firsthand coverage of IFA 2026.


Robots—global headline-grabbers—were especially prominent at this year’s IFA. In the IFA Next exhibition zone, Zhongqing Robotics showcased its humanoid robots T800 and PM01, drawing significant attention from international visitors.

For many Chinese consumers, these two humanoid robots are no longer unfamiliar faces. Standing at 1.38 meters tall, the Zhongqing PM01 is renowned for its exceptional mobility performance—it is the world’s first humanoid robot to successfully execute a front flip. With open-source foundational operation code, training code, and deployment code, the PM01 offers greater potential for real-world, scenario-specific applications. The PM01 is available in multiple versions—including Education and Commercial editions—and is accessible to domestic consumers via e-commerce platforms.


The full-size, general-purpose humanoid robot T800 stands 1.73 meters tall and features a multi-dimensional perception system, including proprietary miniature joint motors and a 360° omnidirectional perception system, enabling millisecond-level environmental data processing. The T800 features 29 degrees of freedom across its body (excluding dexterous hands), with maximum joint torque reaching up to 450 N·m.

The T800’s high profile is closely tied to URKL—the Universal Robot Karate League—a global humanoid robot free-fighting competition initiated and organized by Zhongqing Robotics. All competing robots in URKL are standardized as the T800 model, allowing for secondary development; the competition focuses purely on algorithmic performance among participating teams.


In LeiTech’s view, such head-to-head algorithmic contests among competing teams better demonstrate the upper limits of the Zhongqing T800’s capabilities than proprietary algorithms developed solely by robotics companies.


Through fine-tuning, adaptation, and optimization by competing teams, the Zhongqing T800 has executed complex maneuvers on the competition stage—including rising uppercuts, spinning kicks, and rapid recovery from falls. Its integrated physical output matches or even exceeds that of an average adult male, showcasing both strength and agility in vivid detail. Thanks to its modular design—separating the control core, power core, and perception system—the T800 delivered a legendary moment during competition: continuing to fight even after its head was kicked off by an opponent.


According to Zhongqing’s roadmap, the T800 is designed for applications spanning intelligent traffic management, commercial services, industrial manufacturing, and scientific research & education. Compared to other robot types, humanoid robots’ greatest advantage lies in their generalization capability—in theory, any task a human can perform, a humanoid robot can also accomplish.

During IFA 2026, Zhongqing also hosted visiting student delegations from local German schools. Younger generations engaged directly with Zhongqing robots, experiencing the awe and appeal of embodied intelligence firsthand—and gaining deeper insight into how Zhongqing robots achieve deep coordination across physical embodiment, cerebellar motion control, and cerebral cognition.


IFA serves as a global platform for technology exchange and demonstration. Beyond their outstanding hardware specifications, Zhongqing’s T800 and PM01 stand out most significantly for their openness to secondary development.


Zhongqing Robotics does not predetermine what robots should or shouldn’t do. Instead, it entrusts customers with the right to “train” and tailor their robots. Whether in China or faraway Europe, customers can customize Zhongqing robots according to their specific needs.


From September 4–8, the world’s largest home appliance and consumer electronics exhibition—IFA 2026—is being held in Berlin.
