
IFA 2026 officially kicked off in Berlin, Germany on September 4. Unlike conventional exoskeletons, which feel rigid, bulky and as if they are dragging the wearer along, the IRMO M1 Ultra is built with high‑strength carbon‑fiber composite materials. Weighing approximately 2.2 kg, it creates no noticeable downward pull when worn.
Most importantly, the IRMO M1 Ultra is highly “intelligent”. Equipped with built‑in high‑definition cameras and LiDAR, it monitors road conditions in real time. Powered by the EPA embodied‑intelligence algorithm, it analyzes terrain and gait within milliseconds to intelligently adjust power output.
The IRMO M1 series offers four modes: Energy‑Saving, Extreme, Training and Rest. The Training mode enables targeted resistance training to strengthen lower‑limb muscle power, boost endurance and improve mobility.

According to Hangmo Technology, when climbing uphill, going downhill, carrying loads or traveling long distances, the IRMO M1 series can deliver up to 45 % assistance for knee joints and reduce mechanical impact by as much as 60 %. Its high‑performance 1000 W power system handles a wide range of complex terrains, while the 6‑8‑hour long‑lasting battery meets full‑day usage requirements.
At its core lies Flexmo, a self‑developed intelligent bionic joint module by Hangmo Technology. It dynamically adjusts joint stiffness according to varying force conditions. It provides power assistance when extra force is needed, and actively delivers cushioning performance upon impact.

It should be noted that during running‑related activities, insufficient technique or excessive exercise intensity can easily lead to knee injuries, which may progress to arthritis in severe cases. The IRMO M1 series can significantly lower pressure exerted on the knees during running, safeguarding users’ physical well‑being.
For fitness enthusiasts and outdoor‑sports lovers, the IRMO M1 series protects knee joints while reducing physical strain and fatigue during mountain hiking, stair climbing and weight‑carrying treks.
Figures from US crowdfunding platform Kickstarter show that the IRMO M1 has raised over USD 1.1 million in crowdfunding funds, far exceeding Hangmo Technology’s initial target. This demonstrates that the IRMO M1 has gained recognition among certain consumers in Europe and North America, where outdoor activities such as hiking and trekking are highly popular. Deliveries of the IRMO M1 series have commenced overseas, while its domestic launch timeline remains unconfirmed. It is expected to be released in China in the near future.

At the robotics track of IFA 2026, most manufacturers focused their displays on humanoid robot prototypes. Hangmo’s IRMO M1 took a different approach, bringing embodied intelligence to the niche segment of consumer‑grade exoskeletons.
